Hey, fellow true crime enthusiasts! We’re diving into some spine-chilling tales for Episode 15 of the Unapologetic Introverts Podcast. This week, Aaron and I ventured into the dark and twisted world of true crime, sharing some of the most harrowing and fascinating murder stories we could find. 🕵️♀️🔪
Trigger Warning: Before we get started, we want to give a heads-up that this episode covers sensitive subjects, including graphic descriptions of violent crimes and a story involving sexual assault (which starts at 52:40 and ends at 1:02). If you’re not comfortable with these topics, we totally understand if you skip this episode. We’ll have something lighter for you next week!
The Allure of True Crime
For those of us who are drawn to true crime, there’s something strangely captivating about these stories of human behaviour at its darkest. Maybe it’s the puzzle of trying to understand the why behind the actions, or perhaps it’s the hope of finding justice for victims. Whatever the reason, true crime has a way of gripping our imaginations and keeping us on the edge of our seats.
In this episode, we share a mix of local and international stories, including a few chilling cases from Canada and a particularly notorious tale from Italy. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of true crime or new to the genre, we hope you’ll find these stories as intriguing and unsettling as we did.
True Crime Chat Time: A New Segment
This is the first instalment of our “True Crime Chat Time,” and we’re so excited to share it with you! We know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s okay. We promise to space out these episodes so we’re not turning into a true crime podcast—there are plenty of those out there, like our beloved “My Favorite Murder.”
Share Your Stories!
We’d love to hear your true crime stories! Whether it’s a tale from your hometown, something you’ve read about, or a personal experience you’re comfortable sharing (anonymously, of course), email us at unapologeticintroverts@gmail.com. Your stories might just make it into a future episode!
Apologies from Aaron
And a quick note from Aaron: she sends her apologies for any research gaps and promises to dive even deeper next time. (Personally, I think she did a fantastic job! 🤪 – Jade)
